ROF Registration – Partnership Firm Registration

Make your partnership official and legally recognised with ROF registration.

Partnership firms in India are governed by the Indian Partnership Act, 1932. Although not mandatory, registration of a partnership firm with the Registrar of Firms (ROF) in your state is highly recommended to avail legal benefits, enforce partnership agreements in court, and operate with greater legitimacy.

At NMRG & Co, we help you draft your partnership deed, complete the ROF application, and obtain the Certificate of Registration from the Registrar of Firms.

What is ROF Registration?

ROF registration is the process of formally registering a partnership firm with the State Registrar of Firms under the Indian Partnership Act. It provides legal recognition, helps open a current bank account, and ensures dispute resolution mechanisms are available to partners.

Benefits of ROF Registration

  • Legal proof of partnership existence
  • Right to sue third parties or other partners in case of disputes
  • Adds legitimacy while applying for bank loans, tenders, or registrations
  • Ensures smooth transfer of ownership, retirement, or dissolution
  • Helps open a current account in the firm’s name

Benefits of ROF Registration

  1. Partnership Deed (Notarised or on stamp paper as per state rules)
  2. PAN & Aadhaar of all partners
  3. Passport-size photographs
  4. Address proof of firm (rent agreement, electricity bill, NOC, etc.)
  5. PAN of the firm (Apply before ROF if not already taken)
  6. Affidavit or undertaking (depending on state)
  7. Signature of all partners on Form 1 (Application for registration)

ROF registration is state-specific; documentation and process may vary (e.g., Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi).
